In recent years, Chinese designers have garnered significant attention on the international stage, thanks to their exceptional innovation capabilities and cross-cultural storytelling.
To support the rise of China's emerging design talents, build a bridge for them to connect with the international design community, and propel more avant-garde designers onto the global stage to showcase the diverse appeal of Chinese design, 2025 MILANO DESIGN WEEK · CHINA & DESIGN @ADI Design Museum will be held at the ADI Design Museum in Milan, Italy, during the Milan Design Week in April this year, with the strong support of MAISON&OBJET DESIGN AWARD CHINA.
This joint exhibition has been officially included in the official exhibition section of the 2025 MILANO DESIGN WEEK · CHINA&DESIGN@ZONA SARPI. During the Milan Design Week, it will focus on global Chinese avant-garde designers, carefully selecting the most representative design works to demonstrate their unique perspectives in creative expression and cultural heritage. Meanwhile, this joint exhibition will also serve as the first stop of the 2025 Milan & Paris linkage, offering participants an opportunity to embark on a year-long journey to Europe's top design exhibitions.
Independent Exhibition
Ni Ziyan
倪子雁
The artist creates a philosophical dialogue between butterflies and lacquer, exploring the contrast between life’s transience and eternity. Veins in the lacquer merge into unique life codes, reflecting individual existence. The tension between lacquer’s eternal scale and the fleeting beauty of butterfly wings examines whether life’s essence lies in the harmony of fragility and eternity. Art becomes a spiritual vessel where cycles of decay and renewal embody the endless poetry of existence.
Independent Exhibition
Ni Ziyan
王艺
Wang Yi’s artistic practice consistently reconstructs collective existence through geometric order structures. His works configure individuals as tripartite social agents—participants, practitioners, and witnesses—employing surrealist syntax to metaphorize the existential plight of utopian-nostalgic subjects within contemporary urbanization processes. The aesthetic paradigm synthesizes stylized heroism, romantic formalism, and secular idealism, encoding philosophical critique within mass-cultural visual semiotics.
